And I'm among them.
My wife is currently on a diet and has already lost a good 8 pounds. While I commend her for eating healthily and making a stronger effort to hit the gym, I often remind her that I'd prefer she not shed too much weight. She knows I have never been attracted to overly skinny women. If I had the choice between thin and a few extra pounds, I'd choose the latter.
There's something to be said for a woman with curves. A woman's body is what I find to be one of God's most beautiful creations. Emaciated women, though, don't rank too highly on the attractive scale in my book. Unless a woman is seriously overweight, there's no need for her to lose an excessive amount of weight.
As I've noted in earlier posts, I think Hollywood and the media are to blame for pushing this idea that only very thin women are considered beautiful. I respect those men who agree, but I feel differently -- as do many men out there.
Some of us appreciate women who have amply-sized breasts, a big rear end, curves, and a nice set of not-so-skinny legs. I have felt this way since I was in elementary school. In fact, the girl I had a big crush on in the third grade happened to be the girl who developed the quickest -- in more ways than one.
So for all of you women who think you need to look like a stick in order to attract men: Here's news for you. There are hordes of men out there drawn to women who come in different shapes and sizes. Don't sell yourself short only because you might be a few extra pounds. While I always encourage people to watch what they eat and put in some exercise every week, women who come with a little extra something -- more cushion for the pushin' -- may actually score a few extra points with many guys out there.
Indeed, some men just want more to love!
