People should give others their privacy

How often have you come across someone -- whether at school, work, the grocery store, or even on Facebook -- who tries to meddle in your business? Perhaps you've just been laid off or come out of a tumultuous relationship, or maybe you've lost someone dear to you. Some people are hardly satisfied in just knowing why you've seen better days; they press you for more details despite your showing a desire to be left alone. Why are they this way? While some may be driven by a genuine yearning to comfort you, others may simply be nosy. Make no mistake about it: Certain individuals are constantly comparing themselves to others although doing so -- unbeknownst to them, perhaps -- only makes them less happy in the end. Sadly, some of these people take pleasure in other's misfortunes, and still others use it as fodder for gossip. Thus the reason I always advise my readers not to disclose too much information to others. If it falls into the wrong hands, it can open...

Woman completes college exam — while in labor!

A pregnant mother enrolled in college courses wasn't going to let labor get in the way of taking a college exam. Tommitrise Collins went into labor on November 12, and her sister posted a photo on her Facebook page showing Tommitrise in a hospital bed with her laptop open in front of her. Apparently, her contractions were three minutes apart, but that did little to deter her from completing the test. The post has been shared more than 14,000 times. Shortly after finishing the exam, Tommitrise delivered a healthy baby girl, weighing 7 lbs, 10 oz. Without a doubt, this woman's dedication to her studies is commendable. But some people assert that pictures of people in labor have no place on Facebook. They feel such content is personal in nature and should be kept out of the public eye. I think some people go great lengths to keep people apprised of everything going on in their lives -- and sometimes they may step over the line a bit. What was Collins' sister motiva...

SHOCKING: You won't believe what this man did...

Just when you thought people couldn't get any weirder...this one ranks high on the list, alongside the woman I wrote about a while back who wanted to marry a tree. I recently learned that my alma mater was on high alert after a man allegedly hid under a table in the campus library and smelled her feet. A man who matched the description of the "foot fetishist" was taken into custody earlier today, and police confirmed that they got their guy. What would drive a person to do such a thing? Why would you want to be sniffing someone's feet in the first place? It's gross -- not to mention an invasion of privacy! I've heard of people having foot fetishes before, but this is the first time I've learned of someone being caught in the act. I can't imagine what could be so stimulating about another person's foot -- let alone the smell it emits -- but it seems there's something out there for everyone to get turned on by. What else might people find...
