"Jurassic World": Quickest ever to $1 Billion

Just the other day, I went to the local movie theater and had to do something I've never done before there -- that is, park on the very top floor of the parking garage. "Why on earth would there be so many people here so as to force me to park this high up?" I asked incredulously. As it turns out, it seemed the whole city was on hand to watch "Jurassic World." When we arrived, most of the shows were already sold out. (My wife and I opted for a comedy movie, "Spy.") I knew at that very moment that this movie was going to make a killing at the Box Office. And that it has. Not only did it edge out the first Avengers movie for the best weekend opening ever (it grossed 208 million the first weekend to Avengers' 207 million), but no other movie has ever hit the $1 billion mark as quickly.
