MUST READ: One thing that's certain about your life

If there's one thing that's certain about your life, it's that it isn't perfect . Don't fret. Neither is mine. Neither is anyone else's. And that's precisely the beauty of it all. Not having everything we want makes us appreciate what we have even more . Think about it: If we had everything we could possibly desire, wouldn't that make life, well, a tad boring? There's no such thing as the perfect job . There will always be something or someone at work that isn't to our liking. If our jobs were perfect, they'd be called a hobby. But in order to keep food on the table and a roof over our head, we have to make some concessions. There's no such thing as the perfect partner.   Just as we say "batteries included" for many of the items we buy, you can rest assured that your partner comes with "flaws included." There's no such thing as a perfect human being. We have no choice but to take the good with the bad if ...

The perfect job? It doesn't exist

The notion that there's a perfect job out there for everyone is, in a word, absurd. Sure, there are jobs that would suit us far better than others, but that in no way means they're perfect in every way. There's always at least one thing about every job that we wish we could change. As part of the deal, we consent to adhering to the employer's policies and working with other employees to advance the company's mission and meet or exceed its goals. However, at...

Be Flexible - Nothing in Life is Perfect

We all have an idea as to what would make the "perfect" job, partner, or lifestyle. We might spend a lot of time and energy in pursuit of it, only to pass up great-yet-not-100-percent-perfect opportunities along the way. We must each come to terms with the fact that there is no such thing as perfection. Your job, partner, and life as a whole will always lack something you want. If only we had a machine at our disposal that allowed us to create these to our specifications, right? As much as I would love to believe that there's a job out there that has everything I could want -- intellectually stimulating work, great pay and benefits, fantastic co-workers, and so forth -- the truth is that no job is going to meet all my criteria. The same applies to one's choice of a partner. Your boyfriend will never live up to your idea of perfection. Maybe he'll never be as muscular, romantic, or handy as you'd like. That isn't to say that we should resign to sett...
