Finally, Donald Trump gets a taste of his own medicine

If you didn't watch last night's Republican presidential debate, you missed a doozy. Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz came out swinging like boxers on a mission, challenging Trump on everything from his reluctance to release his tax returns to lawsuits and his traditionally left-leaning views on abortion. At times it felt like a 2-on-1 affair. Unfortunately, Cruz and Rubio may have awoken from their slumber a tad too late. It's jarring that it took these men ten debates to finally stick it to Trump. The fact of the matter is that, like many political pundits, the candidates (with the exception of Jeb Bush, who recently exited the race) underestimated Trump. They figured he would fizzle out eventually, so they never took his candidacy seriously -- that is, until he started racking up victories in the primaries and caucuses. Now they're trying to do anything they can to slow his momentum, but polls have him with sizeable leads in many of the states up for grabs o...

SHOCKING: Woman runs marathon...without a tampon?

When Kiran Gandhi realized she was going to be on her period on the day of her first-ever marathon, she decided to do something that has left some people in utter shock: She opted to run the entire race while free bleeding. The 26-year-old spent a year training for the London Marathon, which took place Sunday, April 24. She said she chose to nix the tampon because she wanted to highlight how women are often shamed for having their period. I understand her wanting to make a statement, but here's a guy's take on the matter: I think it was unnecessary. After reading several of my posts, I'm sure you've noticed me to be very pro-women's rights. Truthfully, though, I don't respect this woman any more for doing something like this than I would if she'd simply led a protest or written a book on the issue. Some things are really best left unseen, and I just think she went a little overboard. I've never heard of anyone -- neither someone I know nor anyone i...

How did these become fashion fads?

Have you ever stopped and questioned how some of the things we do and wear got in style? Here are a few fashion fads that might have made our ancestors squirm: Ripped jeans Tattoos Nose and naval rings Short shorts Dying our hair non-traditional colors (pink, purple, etc.) I suppose many people might cite the 1970s as a time when many of these fads came into being.  Nonetheless, the world as we know it is becoming more and more liberal. People feel at ease wearing less, if not more outlandish, clothing these days. What's more, what would have been considered taboo when our parents were growing up -- like men wearing tattoos or earrings on both ears -- is now regarded as trendy.  How do you suppose scantily-clad women in 2015 would have been perceived in the 1980s or early 1990s? Back then, they might have been mistaken for prostitutes. Then there are young men wearing jeans so loose and baggy that their underpants come into view. Who wants to be seeing t...
