As mentioned in a post submitted last week, I attended a concert with my wife on Thursday night. I couldn't help but notice that a large number of women in attendance were, shall we say, scantily clad. My wife herself pointed out that many went to the concert sans bra. We even spotted a girl in a dress so tight her boobs looked like they were about to pop out, as well as another who was literally lap dancing on the guy who was with her, presumably her boyfriend or husband.
I got the sense that a lot of these women are no strangers to concerts, let alone the dressing habits of those who attend them. It seems they know what to expect when they get there, so they dress accordingly. Mind you, this concert featured a lot of dance music, so, if asked, most of them would probably say they wanted to go in something "comfortable."
Still, there were women on hand dressed far more conservatively. I wonder if being around so many provocatively-dressed women made them feel as if they were at a club instead of a concert.
As I've said before, I think women have every right to dress as they so desire. But I wouldn't be too happy if my wife decided she wanted to bare so much skin at a concert or anywhere else for that matter. I can only assume that these women's partners either don't care or they enjoy "showing off" their wives' or girlfriends' good physique -- as if to wave a carrot in other guys' faces while saying, "you can look but you can't touch -- she's all mine."
I think women's clothing -- or lack thereof -- can be distracting to men and women, obviously for different reasons. I suppose many women would look at these women and wonder whether they thought clothing was optional, while men with a wandering eye might get a good peep show.
It makes you wonder whether some people even attend the concert for the music.
Have you noticed women dressing this way anywhere? Why do you think some women feel comfortable walking around half naked? Do you feel comfortable dressing like this in certain contexts? If so, which ones?
