We've all seen at least one movie where an older woman ensnares a younger, more inexperienced guy. (Ann Bancroft opposite Dustin Hoffman in "The Graduate" is a perfect example.)
A lot of women prefer -- and can't seem to get enough of -- younger men. But what is it about these lads that would drive a woman to pick them over men their own age?
The way I see it, some women find the prospect of "deflowering" a sexually inexperienced guy all too alluring. They think to themselves, "Hey, I could teach this guy a few things."
Moreover, the mere fact that someone 10 -- even 20 -- years her junior could be more interested in her than someone closer to his age serves as a definite ego boost. Once women reach an age where they're no longer able to have kids, the chances of landing a young stud become less likely.
However, many men in their 20s and 30s aren't interested in anything serious, let alone having children. And that's precisely why cougars and "MILFs" zero in on them. These women are usually divorcees (some with kids, some without) and they're looking for nothing more than a little fun at this juncture of their lives.
Which leads me to my next point: Being involved with much younger guys helps women feel younger themselves; indeed, it has a certain "rubbing off" effect. Some even imagine being their partner's age again. In addition to being the ticket to a more exciting sex life, a younger partner might inspire the cougar to take up activities people his age typically enjoy (and that she may have enjoyed way back when), like clubbing, working out, and shooting pool.
Society generally frowns upon a relationship in which the woman is so much older than the man. My take on it: Age is just a number. As long as both parties consent to the relationship and are clear as to what each person wants to get out of it, why not? It can be a win-win for both.
Ladies, what do you think? Would you ever enter into a relationship 10 or 20 years younger than you?
