Whether you desire a career in journalism, a trip to China, or a relationship with a wonderful man, your dreams are never out of reach.
As long as you work hard and never cease believing in yourself, you can achieve anything you aspire to.
Rest assured, on the road to success, you will experience setbacks along the way that'll test your mettle. The key is never allowing such challenges to faze you.
When you want something badly enough, nothing or no one can get in your way. Unfortunately, our own negative thinking is often the single biggest obstacle we're up against.

When you want something badly enough, nothing or no one can get in your way. Unfortunately, our own negative thinking is often the single biggest obstacle we're up against.
For example, you might feel tempted to throw in the towel because:
- You're hard up on cash.
- You've applied for several promising jobs and seem to fall short each time.
- You've had bad luck with a string of recent dates, convincing you that you'll never find true love.
Instead of calling it quits, why not use such struggles to drive you to work harder?
Maybe you need to get something on the side to supplement your income. Perhaps holding practice job interviews with a friend will sharpen your skills. And consider whether you are attracting the wrong kind of men or women.
In other words, such difficult circumstances may be exactly what you need to focus on in order to inch ever closer to achieving your goals.
I'm not trying to insinuate that it's your fault; truthfully, sometimes people do everything right and they still fall short.
If you don't relent -- and you aim to work a little harder and smarter (e.g., making changes, however slight) each time, you're bound to hit your target eventually.
If you don't fight for what you want, you'll always walk away empty handed. No one is going to achieve your goals for you!
The best preparation for tomorrow is doing the best you can today. And in order to prevail, you have to be open to reworking your approach. Eintein wasn't kidding when he said insanity means doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
Indeed, you won't be successful unless you swallow your pride and acknowledge that no one is perfect. You might have to send 30 resumes before you start getting responses. Or, you may go on 30 dates before you finally connect with someone who carries long-term relationship potential.
In the end, though, things don't always happen when or exactly how we want them to. We might get a great job in healthcare rather than at a publishing company, travel to London instead of China, or get with someone we never imagined falling for -- and still be very happy.
You deserve to be happy. Don't stop until you've enjoyed the sweet taste of success. It's closer than you think!
