Women need THIS once a day
Hugging releases emotionally positive brain chemicals, lowers blood pressure, and keeps the heart healthier. A warm, loving embrace does more than connect us to another person -- it stimulates "feel good" neurotransmitters in the brain like serotonin and dopamine.
Long story short, just one hug per day improves the immune system and overall health.
As a very affectionate person, I'm all for hugging -- you can never have too many of them!
I'm sure these studies can be extrapolated to the rest of the population (i.e., men). While women are regarded as being more emotional than men, everyone -- no matter their sex -- can use a warm hug from their partner, friend, parent, or children after a hard day. I don't see why the health benefits should be any less pronounced for men than women.
I don't think it comes as a surprise that hugs make for a happier life -- as long as they come from people who you care deeply for. Surely, giving them feels almost as great as receiving them.
