Ladies: Are bikini pictures too revealing for the internet?
Opinion seems to be sharply divided on this question.
Some women say that, yes, pictures of women wearing only bikinis have no place on social media, where they can attract the attention of stalkers, sexual predators, and other people ready to wreak havoc on innocent lives. They're especially opposed to pictures of young children in swimwear appearing anywhere on the internet.
Others feel that posting such pictures isn't a big deal, so long as you've configured your privacy settings so that only your friends -- and not the general public -- can view your profile and pictures.
Here's my take: If you want to show friends pictures of yourself in a bikini, why not just show them in person?
People who are in favor of posting bikini pictures online (the second group) need to keep a few things in mind:
1. While you're friends today, you can have a falling-out with any of those Facebook buddies tomorrow.
2. It's a cinch to save friends' pictures on a phone or computer. Does the thought of a "friend" -- who, unbeknownst to you, finds you very attractive -- saving your pic to their mobile device creep you out?
In the end, it's your Facebook profile, and you're entitled to do what you wish with it. I would just advise everyone to exercise caution. Be sure that only your Facebook friends can view your profile; you don't want random strangers on the internet randomly stumbling upon your page.
What's your take? Do you think women should refrain from posting pictures of themselves in bikinis on social media?
